Let’s review what dandruff really is in order to have a totally different approach that you’ve probably never been told before because some companies don’t want you to know what really causes dandruff.

Apart from the common knowledge that dandruff is produced by a fungal infection called Malassezia Globosa that leads to inflammatory infection causing our scalp to go into skin cell shedding overdrive, dandruff also and most of all signals a lymphatic system congestion.

Lymphatic System Definition

The lymphatic system is a network of fluids (lymph), organs, ganglions, lymph nods, canals and vessels that are constantly cleaning up residue materials in the body. Ganglions (millions of them) filter bacteria and other foreign substances that don’t belong to the lymphatic system.  In other words, the job lymphatic system is to make sure that your inner body is clean.

Interestingly enough, there is three times more lymph in the body than blood, but there’s no “pump” to keep it moving, as opposed to blood.  Indeed, blood is always circulating in the body thanks to the heart that plays the role of a mechanical device using suction and pressure to move blood. The problem is that the lymphatic system produces lymphocytes and white blood cells that are supposed to protect the body from infections and cancerous cells. If the lymph is not moving, it’s not protecting the body anymore, exposing it to bacteria, infections and other diseases such as… dandruff.

Why does the lymphatic system get congested?

We not only eat to live, but also to get energy and renew our cells. However, our digestive system produces wastes and residues that the body needs to extract. If there is an excess of unwanted materials, the body becomes unable to process and get rid of them because the main body organ filters, which are supposed to stop unwanted materials, are clogged and can’t work anymore.  So, eating what the lymphatic system is not able to evacuate because its filters get clogged means that it may lead to dandruff. Foods that get the lymphatic system congested include gluten and cereal products such as pasta and normal cereals, diary ingredients such as milk and cheese, red meats and fish.

How to make sure the lymphatic system is moving?

There’s no secret. In order to make sure the lymphatic system is circulating in the body, the easiest way is to practice physical activities such as running, cardio-vascular exercises and trampoline every single day. Healthy diet is also an important factor that allows a fluid lymphatic system circulation.

Therefore, healthy diet and quality lifestyle are the keys to making sure our body keeps working properly and has functioning tools that protect and strengthen our immune system.
